Meister
Meister is a first-hand narrative documentary following the extraordinary journey of Jack Meister OAM — born Icek Kapelmeister in Kielce, Poland. At eleven, he was forced into the Kielce Ghetto and separated from his family in Auschwitz, never seeing them again.
After his liberation in 1945, he journeyed to Australia, where he rebuilt his life, found community, and made a home. The documentary is structured as a first-hand, interview-led narrative, with Jack guiding his own story — reflecting the way he spoke to audiences throughout his lifetime.
A film about renewal, belonging, and identity.
